BOMAN IN NEWS
Boman Irani’s son Danesh has managed to get enmeshed in the chaos surrounding the Rs. 425 Crore scam allegedly propagated by QNet. An official police source revealed today that Danesh has received a ‘substantial amount of money’ from QNet and this has brought him under suspicion. Gurupreet Singh Anand who had filed the FIR against QNet last year, filed an official complaint against Danesh. Anand has accused Danesh of propagating the scam with his father and feels that more people will get ensnared in such con-schemes if a famous actor like Boman is involved. However ACP Rajvardhan clarified that Boman Irani had no role to play in the case. Apparently Danesh has carried out Rs. 18 Crore worth transactions through QNet for which he has reaped substantial commissions. Boman himself has denied all allegations against his son and says that the only reason the two of them are being linked with QNet is because they had been photopgraphed at a function organised by the company.
Farah Khan just made the best use of her association with filmmaker Karan Johar for her debut film as lead actress opposite Boman Irani- Shirin Farhad ki toh Nikal Padi. The first poster of the upcoming film had Farah and Boman posing like Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan from Hum Aapke Hai Kaun? So when it came to making the next big poster, Farah made sure that the movie they took a spin off from was just as iconic. Think of love-stories of the 90s and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is probably the first to come to your mind. Well, it certainly did strike first on Farha's mind, and that's why you'll see her and Boman posing like Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, complete with a basketball and the tracksuits! "I was a lot more at ease in a tracksuit. I was telling Boman that even though he was dressed like Shah Rukh in KKHH, he was acting like SRK from My Name is Khan. We were really like two mental people," said the choreographer. "Sanjay Leela Bhansali invoted Madhuri for the first look," adds Farah, "so I told him I'll get Karan for this. When I spoke to him, he was thrilled. I;m sure he must have had a mini heart-attack after seeing it!" Karan apparently was pretty impressed by the poster and we have to admit, so are we! Shirin Farhad ki Toh Nikal Padi may seem like a love story between a 40-plus couple, but by what we're making out of the posters, it's for those young at heart!
You can't be hilarious on screen without having a prominent funny bone in real life. Boman Irani, who has tickled us breathless played a prank just as hilarious off-screen on 'Shirin aur Farhad ki toh Nikal Padi' co-star Farah Khan.
The actor plays the role of a 40-something, single lingerie sales man, who meets Shirin, just as old and just as single. His role inspired his real-life stunt, as he bought a specially designed birthday cake for Farah. Specially-designed we say, because it was in the shape of a brassiere.
Surprised and stunned at first, as the cake was unveiled on set of the film, the entire unit, along with Farah broke into peels of laughter.
Boman's sure out to get 'naughty' with his crew!
