When the top choreographer of the time, Saroj Khan walked out of the film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Farah got her break, and this was her first film to choreograph. This was followed by many more songs which became national hits. She met actor Shahrukh Khan on the set of Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and the two have since become good friends and started working together. Farah Khan has received numerous awards for her choreographical work, predominantly from Filmfare. Sourced from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farah_Khan)
FARAH IN NEWS
Farah Khan is the kind of person who always ensures that her crew gets the maximum exposure. And even though she is simply choreographing songs for Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale, Farah recently shared a lovely picture of all the women from the costume and make-up team of the movie. Farah has been busy working with Kriti and Varun on a song in Bangalore and she has constantly been posting photos and interesting anecdotes to her social media site. This picture particular has Farah and Kriti posing with all the girls from the film’s crew. Farah captioned the image with the line - “Girl power on the sets of #Dilwale .. Working hard to make the men look good!!” Dilwale is turning out to be a rather special project for everyone concerned. Not only is it a fantastic break for the young actors but even the senior pair of SRK and Kajol are having an on-screen reunion of sorts with this movie. And it seems that King Khan wants all his friends around him for this special movie. With Rohit Shetty directing the movie and Farah choreographing the songs, we don’t see how this one could go wrong. What are you most excited for in Dilwale? Farah Khan is spotted most days with some Bollywood celeb or the other but the director turned TV show host partied with a rather special guest last night. Famous English singer Ed Sheeran is in town and he even performed to a packed audience in Mumbai's Mahalakshmi Racecourse ground. But later he joined a number of our B-town boys and girls for a party. He was photographed posing with Farah Khan and Abhishek Bachchan while he even kissed Farah in another cute pic. Farah Khan shared the images on Twitter and wrote, “Aaj ka photos---yeh lo!! My old friend @juniorbachchan n my new 1 ED Sheeran.. Ek puppy toh Banti hain.” Knowing how persuasive Farah Khan can be we won't be surprised in Ed shows up in Farah's next film! Apparently, Ed Sheeran partied late into the night with our Bollywood stars and the guest list also included names like Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan.
To call Farah Khan a power-mom would be an understatement. This choreographer turned director turned actress has seamlessly managed her flourishing Bollywood career while raising not one but three children, not to mention the rocky career of hubby Shirish Kunder. Farah has always been extremely proud of her triplets and as they turned 7 yesterday, mommy Farah posted a photo of her three little angels cutting a cake. She also sweetly tweeted, “My world is 7 yrs old today!! Early morning cake cutting b4 school.. .” Her three children are named, Anya, Diva and Czar and she gave birth to them back in 2008. We must say the three of them look extremely adorable and grown up. A number of other celebrities like Sonu Sood and Neha Dhupia have also re-tweeted the sweet photo.
Farah Khan was last seen as the host of Bigg Boss Halla Bol after the success of 2014’s Happy New Year. She now plans to take a short break from work and spend more time with her family. However she has assured her fans that she will make a come-back soon with yet another Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster.
After endless speculation with many names tossed up, it seems Deepika Padukone is the full and final choice for the lead role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the Farah Khan-directed Happy New Year. Ankita Lokhande aka Sushant Singh Rajput’s fiancée, Jennifer Winget and Katrina Kaif were being bandied about as possible contenders. But to have Deepika on board as a sultry Maharashtrian bar-dancer who teaches the male protagonists a thing or do about dance brings things to a full circle. At last the Om Shanti Om trio is united. Does this mean that another blockbuster is in the offing? OSO is said to be one of the highest grossing Bollywood films overseas. We wonder if Happy New Year can also spread happiness around for the entire crew concerned. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Prithiviraj and Vivaan Shah (of Saat Khoon Maaf fame). That sounds like quite a star cast. We hope there aren’t any more surprises sprung up because this right here seems pretty perfect!
What better way to bring in IPL’s next season than having ace choreographer cum director, Farah Khan teaching a cricket crazy nation how to dance in its television commercials. The quirky promos see Farah coming up with signature dance moves to celebrate fours, sixes and the loss of a wicket and have a tagline that says, ‘sirf dekhne ka nahi, dance-ne ka’. With Farah sounding confident about getting the nation to dance to her moves, she is now looking to rope in good friend, Shah Rukh Khan and his IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to groove to the theme too. If that does happen, it will see the Om Shanti Om coming back together as the music for the promo has been done by Vishal-Shekhar. While she’s at it, we hope she manages to finalize a heroine for her next film, Happy New Year.
