Description: Jackie Shroff is an Indian actor. He has been in the industry for more than 28 years and has appeared in over 150 films. Jaikishen was born in the Gujarati-speaking Shroff family on February 1, 1960. His brother's name is Hemant, and they live in Bandra, Mumbai. A vegetarian, Jaikishen made his acting debut in a bit-role as a villain in the 1973 hit 'Heera Panna' which starred Dev Anand. He then went on to act in another Dev Anand starer, 'Swami Dada". It was Subhash Ghai, who signed him up for the 1983 hit 'Hero' that catapulted this handsome young man to stardom, followed by yet another hit 'Andar Bahar' with Anil Kapoor as his co-star. Thus Jaikishen became the new Indian legend: Jackie Shroff. Since then there has been no looking back, as he went on to star in close to 150 movies with a career that spanned from 1973 onwards. Since 2000 or thereabouts he has appeared in a variety of character-roles, villain, comedian, and even as a ghost in 'Bhoot Unkle'. He married his longtime girlfriend, Ayesha Dutt, who is also a producer and both husband and wife run Jackie Shroff Entertainment Limited. They have two children, a son, Jai, and a daughter, Krishna. It was Jackie Shroff and son Tiger Shroff's debut on Koffee with Karan. The father-son duo is full of life, fun, and loads of affection for each other. Karan Johar started off by saying how could Jackie Shroff have a son like Tiger who is completely opposite to him. Tiger is shy and quiet by nature whereas, his dad has always been a dashing hero known for his flamboyance! During the conversation, Tiger mentioned how dedicated he is to his work. He has always been a fitness freak and had no time for girls. There are rumors of Tiger and Disha Patani dating, however, he subtly denied it and said they're just “good friends”. Karan Johar, as usual, asked some compulsive questions to his guests. Tiger disclosed his dad's secrets about how hopelessly he was in love with his wife – Ayesha Shroff. Can you believe, Jaggu Da used to write romantic letters to his wife!? This is exactly opposite to his flirty personality that we've always witnessed. Recently the Showman of Bollywood, Subhash Ghai celebrated 37 years of his production house ‘Mukta Arts, which is one of India’s leading entertainment conglomerates and has pioneered many firsts within the Indian entertainment industry. It was a double celebration for the talented director as he celebrated his wedding anniversary and production house’s 37th anniversary on the same day! The celebration of this joyful moments started by hosting a small ritual pooja at the Iskon Temple in Juhu in the morning, which was attended by film-makers like Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Abbas Mastan , lyrics writers Irshaad Kamil and Kumar, producers Manmohan Shetty and Ramesh Taurani and a very close friend Sunil Gavaskar. At night, a special party was organized by Mrs. Mukta Ghai for his close friends and family at their house in Mumbai. The party was attended by top Bollywood celebrities including Shriram Nene and Madhuri Dixit Nene, Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Adnan Sami, Sonu Nigam, Rohit Roy, Satish Kaushik , Gulshan Grover, Poonam Shatrughan Sinha , Kush Sinha , Shreyas Talpade, pradeep guha and many such more who were seen having a gala time with each other and rejoicing with drinks and good food till the wee hours of the morning. The party could easily be called a reunion for the Ram Lakhan and Kalnayak team who were seen in high spirits by clicking selfies, recalling their past memories, having few nostalgic moments and also suggesting their director to make a remake of his epic films like Khalnayak and Karz. Film-makers like Manmohan Shetty, Pradeep Guha, Amar Butala, producer of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and other business associates were also seen at the party adding a business touch to it and discussing about the future prospects of Mukta Arts and Whistling Woods. The merriment moment got higher as Subhash Ghai along with Mukta Arts MD, Rahul Puri also shared special news on the company, which has greenlit three film projects to be produced next year with big stars and suitable directors, which would go on floor next year and would release by 2017-2018. More and more stars are waking up to power of the short film medium. After Radhika Apte’s intriguing short film Ahalya, we now have Jackie Shroff starring in one called Makhmal. Jackie plays the role of an embroidery artisan in this 17 minute feature directed by Faraz Ali. The film explores the bittersweet relationship between an estranged father and daughter and the unique bond they share. Jackie has done a fantastic job making us wish he did more meaningful films. Jackie Shroff was last seen in Akshay and Sidharth’s Brothers and he is currently busy with the promotion of Aishwarya Rai’s Jazbaa. Bollywood’s beloved Jaggu Dada is famous for his wise cracks and smart quips. Ever ready with a reply, Jackie’s sharp tongue has only sharpened with age. At a recent event for Brothers, one reporter asked Jaggu Dada to comment on Salman’s recent tweet where he asked his fans not to make fake accounts. Jackie first stretched his arms lazily then commented that it’s Salman’s opinion and he doesn’t want to analyze it. In his inimitable tapori style he further advised the reporter to mail him, he would think about the issue and let him know. Along with the success of his son Tiger’s debut film, Jackie too seems to be making a comeback in B-town.
