JACQUELINE IN NEWS
Say what you will about Housefull 3, call it an over-blown mindless comedy, pepper it with ridicule and crass jokes but the reality remains that a lot of people actually go and watch such movies. The film opened to collections of 15.21 Crores on Friday and surprisingly registered good numbers from multiplex audiences too. Day two showed decent growth with the film raking in net collections of 16.30 Crores taking the two day total to a rather impressive figure of 31.51 Crores.
Granted that these numbers still fall short of the collections expected from a movie of this scale and starcast but give it time. A strange phenomena is observed with such silly comedies, inspite of negative reviews people still flock to the screens in the hopes of having a good, if slightly silly, time at the movies. After all isn’t that what Bollywood is all about?
Team Dishoom is all set to showcase the films first glimpses as they launched their trailer today on June 1st, 2016. Sajid Nadiadwala's Dishoom, an action adventure is touted to be one of the most anticipated films of this year. The film made headlines with its fresh pairing in addition to its subject. The first look of the film featuring John Abraham and Varun Dhawan further added fuel to fire. Dishoom's poster which released a couple of days ago further increased the excitement levels of its audience. Here are 5 things to look out for in Dishoom's trailer : 1. Buddy cops - Sajid Nadiadwala's Dishoom which revolves around two buddy cops Kabir and Junaid played by John and Varun brings to celluloid a bromance between two action heroes. Both John and Varun being well established commercial actors, the pairing is much looked out for by the audience. 2. Action-Adventure genre - While action proves to be a proven Hit ingredient, Dishoom has an added edge as it is to showcase action combined with some thrilling adventure. Glimpses of the adventure were seen in leaked videos from the films shooting where John and Varun were seen jet skiing. 3. Jacqueline in sexy avatar - The film has Jacqueline Fernandez as the only lead actress. Dishoom is to feature Jacqueline in a Sexy avatar. Jacqueline's hotness in addition to her Hot male co-stars makes Dishoom the Hottest film of the year. 4. First time action for Varun - Yes, you heard that right! Bollywood's lover boy Varun Dhawan is to make his action debut with Sajid Nadiadwala's Dishoom. Varun who was earlier seen exhibiting emotions onscreen will now be seen performing power packed action stunts. While John has proven his mettle as an action hero, watching Varun in the never seen before avatar sure makes for an exciting visual. 5. Rohit Dhawan magic - Director Rohit Dhawan who has directed a wholesome entertainer like Desi Boyz is to recreate magic onscreen with John and Varun. While Rohit has earlier worked with John in Desi Boyz, Dishoom would mark to be the first time that the Dhawan brothers Rohit and Varun would be working together on a film. The trailer launch of Dishoom was a fun filled affair with Jacqueline Fernandez turning emcee and having a great time introducing the Dishoom team. Rohit Dhawan shared that Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is a Dream producer and that it was the producers instincts that gave him the confidence to lead the film. John Abraham gave insights about his onscreen character Kabir and his habit of smoking. Varun Dhawan described Dishoom to be a product of his brother and director Rohit Dhawan's madness. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala shared 'Dishoom is a great responsibility as I am working with the Dhawan brother's who's father has been my friend. I am working with Family in Dishoom which means if you have problems it is carried to the dinner table." It was a pleasant surprise to witness Akshay Khanna who will be seen making a comeback with Dishoom. Also Rohit Dhawan shared with the media that the title of the film " Dishoom" is perfect to describe action and also his film. Sajid Nadiadwala's Dishoom trailer proves to be a perfect mix of action and humour in addition to the glam quotient brought to the table by its star cast. All these ingredients sure combine to make yet another entertainer by the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Dishoom is directed by Rohit Dhawan and brings to celluloid the fresh pairing of John Abraham, Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez. Dishoom is all set to hit the silver screen on 29th July, 2016.
Right from day one, a buddy cop movie starring Bollywood’s favourite chocolate boy Varun Dhawan and everybody’s beloved action star John Abraham sounded like the perfect recipe for success. Now that the trailer is out we are more than a little confused. Dishoom tells a convoluted tale of a kidnapped ace Indian cricketer named Viraj (yeah, we all know who that’s supposed to be), and since India is too Anurag Kashyap for the taste of bigger directors, they decide to base the whole thing in the UAE.
The action feels like something out of a Rohit Shetty film while the comedy mostly misses the mark. Even though we are promised a Jai-Veeru sort of chemistry, for some reasons both the male leads play very similar characters making their equation feel flat. Still, this is just the trailer, but remember that age old adage - great trailers may lead to bad films but bad trailers rarely lead to great films.
Do check out the trailer and let us know what you think!

The Supreme court recently granted a stay order on the 2014 ban on dance bars in Maharashtra. In simple words, it means that dance bars could re-open in the state very soon and already patrons and bar owners alike must be dancing in celebration. And now that they have been shut for so long, we figured they would need a whole new bunch of songs to get things grooving. So here are some numbers guaranteed to be a hit at these seedy dance bars!
Kicking off the festivities is the awesome Daddy Mummy song by Devi Sri Prasad. This peppy, naughty number will be a sure-fire hit in our dance bars, after all nothing says alcoholic fun better than the line - ‘Daddy Mummy hai nahi ghar pe!’
Ghani Bawri from Kangana's Tanu Weds Manu 2 won our hearts instantly with its vibrant and free spirited beat. It is lively and very rhythmic and sounds like just the kind of thing a room full of drunks would enjoy.
This may be slightly old but its still as effective. In fact, if you listen to Jacqueline's Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan closely, it sounds like a song tailor made for dance bars. We can almost hear the catcalls.
DJ Waley Babu
How can a list such as this one not include a song by Badshah. The rapper has been in top form this year and his outstanding hit came in the form of DJ Waley Babu. From swanky nightclubs to your regular dance bars, this song will transcend all barriers.
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo
And last but not the least we have the title song of Salman's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. No, really. What is sexier than a dose of sanskaari saasiness starring Sonam and Salman? The dance bars shall play this one on loop right up to the point the Maharashtra government gets then banned once again for poor taste.
