Kapoor is the younger daughter of actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita (née Shivdasani); her elder sister Karisma Kapoor, is also an actress. She is the granddaughter of actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor, great-granddaughter of actor Prithviraj Kapoor, and niece of actor Rishi Kapoor. During her career, Kapoor has received six Filmfare Awards, among nine nominations, and has been noted for her performances in a range of film genres; these include her work from contemporary romantic dramas to comedies, period films to major Bollywood productions, as well as less publicised independent films. Born into a family where her parents, Randhir Kapoor and Babita, and elder sister Karisma were actors, Kapoor faced the media spotlight from a very young age, but did not make her acting debut until the 2000 film Refugee. Her melodrama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... became India's highest-grossing film in the overseas market in 2001, and is one of her biggest commercial successes to date. After receiving negative reviews for a series of repetitive roles, Kapoor accepted more demanding parts in order to avoid being typecast, and was consequently recognized by critics for displaying greater versatility as an actress. Her portrayal of a sex worker in Chameli (2004) proved to be the turning point in her career and she was later noted for her performances in the critically acclaimed projects Dev (2004) and Omkara (2006). In 2007, Kapoor received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in Jab We Met, a romantic comedy directed by Imtiaz Ali. She went on to play the lead female role in the thriller Kurbaan (2009), for which she earned critical acclaim, and the drama 3 Idiots (2009), which became the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time. Having done so, Kapoor has established herself as a leading actress of the Hindi film industry. In addition to movie acting, Kapoor is a regular stage performer and has launched her own clothing line in association with being the brand ambassador for the retail chain Globus. Her off-screen life, including her relationship with actor Saif Ali Khan, is the subject of wide media coverage in India. In August 2007, Kapoor replaced actress Soha Ali Khan, when she was hired as the brand ambassador for the clothing chain Globus on a two-year contract. Several months later, Kapoor announced that she would be launching her own line of clothing, thus becoming the first Indian actress to do so. Her clothing line debuted several months later in stores across India and was well-received by the public. She became the only actress to be featured on CNNGo's list of "Who Mattered Most in India" and was described as "India's Most Beautiful Woman" by People in 2010. In July 2010, Kapoor was placed eighth in Filmfare Magazine's annual power list, an achievement she repeated from the previous year, where she was ranked at number ten. Kudos to Kareena Kapoor’s reply!

Off lately, Mira Rajput spoke about her journey from her pregnancy till now, as a mother. During the interview, she gave a debatable and an offensive statement to the media about the working parents. She said something on the lines of being proud as a house-wife, as she gets to see her child grow each day. Whereas, working parents don't have time and treat their babies like puppies. Now that also includes her own husband, Shahid Kapoor! Or was it a taunt directed specially towards Taimur's mom, Kareena Kapoor? Kareena Kapoor and Mira rajput In a recent interview, Kareena Kapoor was asked for opinion on Mira Rajput's statement. She replied, “What kind of a mother I am is something that will unfold with time. I will not scream from rooftops about experiencing motherhood or how much I love Taimur. There's always the pressure of being judged, no matter what you do. It's about how you deal with it. Every pregnancy and every mother's journey with her child during those nine months and afterwards is different. You can't draw parallels. No one out there really knows me or what I am feeling at a given time. How can anyone decide on my behalf whether I am supposed to feel depressed or if I can step out before 45 days? If I'm spoken about like that, what would it be like for other women?” Can't agree more with what Kareena Kapoor's reply! It is true that every mother is different with different stories. They all are the best in their own ways. Mira Rajput must watch out for other career oriented Mommies especially in Bollywood, before she could comment anything naive like that!

Kareena Kapoor’s pregnancy rumours have been doing the rounds ever since her London photos emerged on the Internet. In the pics, the actress can be seen wearing heavy coats and even seems to be flaunting a bit of a bump in one picture. But even though this could simply be a result of the weather in UK and some rich meals, fans are choosing to believe that she is indeed expecting.   kareena baby bump   But guess what, her dad Randhir Kapoor is completely unaware of any such thing even though he is very much on board with the idea. Here’s what he had to say about the whole thing, “Well, they have not told me yet, so I have no clue. But I hope it is true. It is high time that they had a baby.” We have yet to hear anything from Kareena and Saif!

Box Office Report: Arjun and Kareena's Ki And Ka has a fairly decent opening

Box Office Report: Arjun and Kareena's Ki And Ka has a fairly decent opening

04-04-2016

Arjun and Kareena’s Ki and Ka opened last week to lukewarm response from the critics, however the audiences do seem to be warming up to this film. The movie opened to decent collections of 7.3 Crores on day one which was decent for a film of this scale. The film managed to add another 8.41 Crores taking the two day total to 15.71 Crores. Similar to Kapoor And Sons, Ki And Ka is expected to make a solid comeback in the days to come since there are no other competing films at the box office right now. Films Of India On the other hand, previous week’s Rocky Handsome has made 22.85 Crores in eight days which still falls below expectations. What are your thoughts on R.Balki’s latest offering? Do share your views with us in the comments section below.

Film Review: Arjun and Kareena's Ki And Ka delivers a half baked gimmick

Film Review: Arjun and Kareena's Ki And Ka delivers a half baked gimmick

01-04-2016

1/2 R Balki is back with yet another gimmicky film, Ki And Ka. Let’s see what this director has to offer us this time around. Ki And Ka tells the story of Kabir and Kia, played by Arjun and Kareena, a pair of unique individuals who seem perfect for each other. Kia is an independent career oriented woman who wants to escape the societal pressure of being a housewife while Kabir is the kind of guy who doesn’t want to enter the rat race and is content with taking care of the house. Against all societal conventions, the duo get married and eventually face a number of trials and tribulations. R. Balki has once again come up with a great premise that works very well in the first half. The story takes all the right twists and turns and manages to stay very entertaining. However, it feels like the writers completely abandon the gender role reversal gimmick in the second half as the movie delves into the personal problems of the individuals. Even though the film explores the concept, it does not offer any sort of conclusion to the issues at hand.   Films Of India   Kareena Kapoor hasn’t looked this good in years. Her vivacious, exuberant personality lights up the screen and makes the movie watchable even at the most dull moments. Arjun Kapoor on the other hand falls short. His brooding look feels stale and makes you wish for something more from this actor. Overall, Ki And Ka only manages to skim the surface of the issues it tackles and leaves you feeling unconvinced. Though initially novel and entertaining, the film soon delves into cliches making you wish for a more rounded experience. We shall go with two and a half stars for this movie.   Tags: Arjun Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor Khan is proud of her ethnic taste in clothes

Few B-town actresses rock the ethnic Indian look better than Kareena Kapoor Khan. On any given day, while the rest of the ladies will be out flaunting their western outfits, Bebo is often seen sporting ethnic Indian wear and Kareena is rather proud of this fact. And it is this very wardrobe preference that has led to Kareena being hired as the face of Craftsvilla’s Miss Ethnic contest. In a promotional video for the brand, Kareena spoke about her undying love for all things ethnic, especially clothes. Even in her movies like Jab We Met and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kareena can be seen sporting a variety of desi outfits. Films Of India Bebo revealed that she loves it when young girls and even married women come up to her compliment her on her Indian outfits. She even sang praises of the quintessential Indian outfit - the saree - and can be seen encouraging women to send in their photos in a saree for the Craftsvilla Miss Ethnic Contest. You can check out the video below and let us know what you think about Kareena’s fashion sense.
