MAATR – Ek Maatr Sadma

MAATR – Ek Maatr Sadma

20-04-2017

MAATR – Ek Maatr Sadma Ashtar Sayed The Director of Maatr brings you a Not so celebrated Diva of Nineties in this era giving you the flavor of a Cinema much of Eighties where there was just one Prem Chopra or Ranjeet to deal with, the magnitude is just seven times larger here. So it’s a Gang Double Rape One and a half murder and a full revenge. Does this make any sense? Well neither does the film. All it does is gives you a shock value in 15minutes of the start of it and it remains a shock value till the end.   Raveena Tandon performs but then the end credits thank her body double taking away the wow factor which anyways wasn’t there any making you wonder if these stunts were really out of the box.   The Casting Director whose name appears much before the director of the film has a big role to play to shape up this disaster. Unfortunately, I forgot the name, well never meant to remember as well. Other than Raveena Tandon none of the cast is impressive neither the main silly villains who have nothing to do other than sniffing cocaine and ripping women or raping them. The language is cheesy, unpleasant, abusive.   The logic is as funny as you could think-of anywhere in the film. Boom Gang Rape, Daughter raped and killed. Another Victim Raveena in hospital, Police is unapologetic and interrogates informing or rather unveiling her to the fact that her daughter is no more and than continuing the interrogation. Moving hand gestures has the contagious effect, with even you waiving hands wondering what is happening on screen. Technically, the film it seems is shot using phone camera in some of the scenes. They expect you to read emails on screen with almost full screen screen of their email communication. Too much Digital Dependency. Mutual Friends logic, brilliant, what a code, Director thinks he is working on a James Bond film.   More than the Gang Rape Trauma what lies with you is the film execution Trauma.   Dialogues of course has some rhyming, “waha desh ka Pradhan Mantri India ko Shape dene chale hain, aur Delhi ke bandhe yaha Rape kar rahe hain” Poor Delhi. More than anybody else, Nirbhaya has become the face of Delhi. It is a pity indeed, that films are being made and riding on her without giving it a right direction.   Last week it was Begumjaan that opened up with the same scene and this week there is a full length film which you can simply skip not just in theatres on TV too.   PK Verdict: Super Tin*

Drunk fan misbehaves with Raveena Tandon at Independence Day event in Los Angeles

17-08-2015

Raveena Tandon celebrated India’s 69th Independence Day in Los Angeles. The actress was part of a three day celebration and she really enjoyed the proceedings until a drunk fan soured things for her on the third day. Apparently, a drunk man got on stage and started passing comments against the actress. The surprisingly bit is that the man was one of the organizers. Raveena herself took to Twitter and narrated the entire incident. Films Of India She wrote, “In LA after two glorious days, of spending the Independence Day celebrations- sadly a bad ending. All was going well. Till a drunk got on stage. Some chap... started misbehaving, and passing comments, sadly all security was down and couldn't get to him first. He was one of the organisers and was upset that his kids didn't get to travel in my car with me to the event, which security and protocol didn't allow. Started making nasty remarks till I had to yell out to the others to get some other guys up... And that's when they took him away! But yes I did give him a piece of my mind too.. That's no way to talk to anyone- when I didn't even know what he was upset about...” Such instances are common enough for celebrities though they have the potential to turn ugly. Just last year actress Gauahar Khan was slapped on stage by a random fan. Luckily, Raveena managed to avoid an ugly confrontation.

Manoj Bajpayee and Raveena Tandon pair up on screen after fourteen years

While fresh or unusual casting creates a lot of buzz and curiosity, reunion of actors are equally looked forward to, especially if it comes after a long interlude. The two times national award winner Manoj Bajapyee who has given some outstanding performances in his Bollywood career will be seen paired against his ravishing yesteryear co-star Raveena Tandon. The two will be seen in an upcoming short film based on the importance of our Independence Day, titled ‘Jai Hind’. The pair scorched the screens with their sizzling chemistry which multiplied into box office numbers in cult movies like Aks and Shool. After a gap 14 years, this pair is back to awe the audience with a patriotic touch. According to our sources, ‘Jai Hind’ was shot in a span of just two days at real locations of South Mumbai. Films Of India Sharing his experience on the movie Manoj Bajpayee says, “Raveena is a very good friend, we have shot together more than a decade back, but the comfort was exactly the same. Jai Hind is a very pragmatic movie with a strong social message and we hope that it leaves a great impact on the audience as well as industry” We have always felt that we don't see enough of Raveena Tandon these days and she indeed looks very good with Manoj on-screen.

Raveena turns singer for 'Ginn Liya Aasmaan'

28-05-2012

Actress Raveena Tandon is set to join the short list of female stars who have sung in films. She will make her singing debut with bilingual film "Ginn Liya Aasman". So far, female actors have kept away from the trend of singing in films, barring a few like Sridevi, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor. And Raveena is set to take the challenge head on. "It is a very sweet song and does not have a very difficult tune but yes you will get to hear her vocal chords in the film. She is very excited about this and would be recording the song in few days," producer Vishwajit Gaikwad said in a statement. Last seen in Amitabh Bachchan-starrer "Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap", Raveena will be seen as a mother to a six-year-old boy in "Ginn Liya Aasman". The Hindi and Marathi film is directed by Rishi Deshpande, and co-produced by Mudassar Aziz, Anil Bohra and Gaikwad. It narrates the story of a child, whose father, a naval officer, goes missing after a plane crash and the boy is told his father lives in the sky. Raveena has brushed up her Marathi too for the movie. Source: IANS
