Shruti IN NEWS
Actress Shruti Haasan, also a popular playback singer, has reportedly been roped in to croon a special song for Tamannah in the upcoming Tamil comedy 'Kathi Sandai', which stars Vishal. What kind of name is that for a comedy film? Never knew knife fights could be funny. "Shruti has been approached and she has given her nod to sing. The recording will happen soon. It is a special song on Tamannah, and needless to say will be lavishly shot," said a source from the film's unit. Featuring music by Hip Hop Tamizha, it's the film's director Suraj, who felt Shruti's voice would be the best for Tamannah. The film, which is gearing up for a Diwali release, also features Vadivelu and Soori. That is maybe why Kathi Sandai is being touted as a comedy. In addition to acting, Shruti has also continued her stint in music through work as a singer in Indian languages and has become an established playback singer in India. Right from her school days she has been rocking the music scene in Chennai and now all over the country. She has even received a Filmfare Award as Best Female Playback Singer – Tamil and the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer – Telugu nominations for the songs "Kannazhaga Kaalazhaga" from the film 3.
We all know what a lovely voice Shruti Haasan has and now it seems that she will even be launching a full fledged international album soon. During the course of a routine ask-me-anything session with her Fans on Twitter, Shruti confirmed that she will indeed be launching the album very soon. Actor Vishal Krishna Reddy posed to question to her on Twitter and in response Shruti tweeted, “Soon soon soon. I promise! And one I've made to you too many times.” The actress is currently busy celebrating the success of her recent film Srimanthudu with Mahesh Babu. In the past, Shruti has sung a few songs in Bollywood too like Alvida and Stereophonic Sannata but an international album will indeed be a big thing for her. Comparisons to Priyanka Chopra, who has released a number of international singles, will be inevitable. But even PeeCee has yet to deliver a full fledged album. Do you think Shruti will be able to match up to Priyanka’s level of success in the international arena?
Imran Khan’s last movie with Shruti Haasan proved to be rather unlucky for both of them. Ironically titled Luck, the film was Shruti’s debut vehicle and ended up as a box office disaster. Now nearly six years later, the two stars will be seen together once more in in a movie produced by Tanu Weds Manu’s director Aanand L Rai. The film will be a remake of the popular Tamil movie Kalyana Samayal Saadham and RS Prasanna who directed the original will also wield the megaphone for the Hindi remake. The movie is slated to hit the floors by the end of the year and will release some time in 2016. With her recent stint in Gabbar, Shruti Haasan seems to be making her way back into mainstream Bollywood while Imran Khan has been away from the movies for almost two years. He will next be seen opposite Kangana Ranaut in Katti Batti and he really needs a few hits to make it back into the big league.
Shruti Haasan has undeniably inherited her mommy Sarika’s stunning good looks. Whether she is posing in a western outfit or clad in a traditional dress, Shruti exudes a natural radiance few actresses in B-town can match up to. Apparently, Shruti plays a Maharashtrian girl in her upcoming flick Gabbar Is Back and we were recently treated to a few gorgeous shots of the actress in traditional Marathi clothes. The actress looks incredibly radiant in a lovely pink and green bordered nauvari saree and even her co-star Akki seems smitten with her look. He even shared one of the images on Twitter and couldn’t stop talking about how lovely she looked. He tweeted, “Meet our Maharashtrian mulgi, played by the beautiful @shrutihaasan We love her traditional look, do you? Well we most certainly do!” We will have to agree with Akki on this one! Gabbar Is Back starring Akshay Kumar and Shruti Haasan will see Kareena Kapoor and Chitrangada Singh putting in special appearances. The movie is slated to release on the 1st of May, 2015.
The gorgeous Shruti Haasan has already crooned for Sonakshi Sinha for a song and this time she herself takes centre stage for this sizzling item number from Tevar. Madamiyan is a vibrant, peppy song with Shruti looking lovely as ever. She matches our Gunday hunk step for step as they groove to some very cheesy but entertaining lyrics. Arjun Kapoor is at his rowdy best with the gorgeous Shruti Haasan showing off some killer dance moves. If it’s entertainment you are looking for, Tevar is the movie for you and nothing is as entertaining as this sizzling song. And if you are wondering when we shall see Shruti in a full fledged role next, well you’ll simply have to wait till Welcome Back releases in which she will be seen opposite John Abraham. Tevar is a remake of Tamil films Okkadu and stars Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Manoj Bajpayee. It is slated to release on the 9th of January, 2014.
