Sabyasachi misses his Bollywood patrons at LFW
Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee show at the just concluded Lakme Fashion Week drew a lot of applause. But he dearly missed his usual patrons Rani Mukerji and Vidya Balan attending his show as they were both stuck to their prior commitments.
Rani and Vidya are regular with Sabyasachi design and the evening was pulsing with expectation of their presence, which they couldn’t make it. Any other Bollywood celebrity wasn’t spotted in the audience either. "Vidya is in Australia and Rani is shooting for a film with Aamir khan. They both wanted to come but their schedules didn't permit, so it's our loss,' reveals the designer.
Sabyasachi designs this time captured a big range of time from the fun and freedom of the 1920s to the elegance of the 1930s and 1940s along with touches of the 1970s Boho chic and the 1980s daring look. ‘Save the Tiger Initiative’ inspired his show. "There was not much I could do apart from lending my support because I have more than 17,000 women buying my clothes every year in this country. So if they can educate 17,000 more, this news will spread. I'm just lending my name to do my own little bit,' says Sabyasachi.
