Court cases often produce a mountain of paperwork and it is not uncommon for important documents to get misplaced from time to time. Salman’s hit and run case seems to have hit a similar roadblock with his lawyer alleging that key documents are missing from the paperbook. The ‘paperbook’ is basically a collection of important documents submitted to both parties before the hearing begins.
Apparently a number of documents pertaining to Ravindra Patil’s testimony is missing from the paperbook and Salman’s lawyer claims that he cannot file an appeal because of this. Ravindra Patil was a key witness who had changed his testimony at one point.
A trial court had found Salman guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder but the high court has since suspended the sentence. This latest roadblock could stall proceedings for a while.
