It is surprising why more film directors don't get the opportunity to act in films. After all they are the ones who have virtually taught all the big stars how to act so one would imagine that they would get the best roles but that is not so. Breaking this trend we now see that director Ponvannan has been picked to do a major role in Ayyanaar Veethi directed by a newcomer Gypsy N Rajkumar.
The story revolves around friendship so when we are talking about friendship it automatically indicates that they would be another male actor in the story. That character is being played by Bhagyaraj who says that when he was narrated the story he simply fell in love with it and even offered some valuable suggestions to the script. The film in set in Rajapalayam, which is his native town. The director says he wanted to do away with the regular city based lifestyle story so he chose Rajapalayam because it still retains a lot of old world charm. They shot inside temples and even during temple festivals. The local people were most helpful in shooting the movie. Let's hope these two talented directors will make the new directors life much easier.
