Ask any young couple to select a memorable love story and nine times out of ten they will pick Saamy. It was a film that paired the demure Trisha with a tender yet macho cop played by Vikram. The songs were memorable too. Now producer Shibu Thameens has confirmed that his plan to make Saamy 2' with Vikram has not been scrapped and that the project will start rolling from April 2017.
It will be a straight sequel to the first 'Saamy' and Vikram will once again be seen in the role of an upright police officer. The script work has been going on for months. We are planning to start shooting from next April," said Shibu Thameens. To be directed by Hari, who directed the first part, Harris Jayaraj has been roped in to compose the music. Vikram, meanwhile, has two more projects in his kitty, and he will commence work on filmmaker Gautham Menon's yet-untitled Tamil film from January 2017.
