Among the confusion and the comparisons, the latest item girl on the block- Chitrangada Singh stays calm and composed about her item number in Joker- the Shirish Kunder film, starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, releasing August 31.
The number, titled 'I want Fakht you', has caused a stir among listeners as the lyrics seem to have a double meaning and offend the sentiments of a few. Explains Chitrangada, "'Fakht you' is actually a Marathi word, meaning 'only you'. So everyone doesn't understand it. They can interpret it in some other way also. So, to save that situation, they (filmmakers) decided to go with 'Just you' and it is just as much fun." The 36-year-old adds, "Some people found it ('I want fakht you') offensive, but that is not the intention of the filmmakers at all. It is a family film and for kids.”
Moreover, the fact that Kareena Kapoor's Heroine has a song 'Halkat Jawaani', and the ensuing comparisons between the two item songs, doesn't bother Chitrangada. The actress says, "Well, I think comparisons are inevitable. Whatever you do, you may dance like the other person or not, there are bound to be comparisons about whether you did good enough or you didn't do good enough. But I think it is great that this is the time for songs like this and I think we have a great number."
Way to go, Chitrangada, we can't wait to see you rock the screen in the movie!
