Just a few days ago, the media was abuzz with the nude pictures of Veena Malik being displayed on the cover of a famous men’s magazine named FHM. This controversial Pakistani woman who is seeking a place in the acting arena of Bollywood has gone ahead and filed a lawsuit of Rs. 100,000,000 (Rs. Ten Crore) against the magazine.
A legal notice was delivered to FHM chief editor Kabeer Sharma and photographer Vishal Saxena alleging that they had morphed her clothes-on images into nudes for the magazine’s December 2011 issue. The notice says that FHM has tarnished her image by breaching the terms and condition of the contract, which never mentioned nude photo or video shoot. The damages must be paid within 24 hours otherwise civil/criminal cases will be filed against the FHM and others, her lawyers warned the magazine in the notice added. The notice called on FHM to ensure the magazine issue would not go into print, remove the tampered photos from the FHM website and pay millions in damages.
So now if Veena Malik indeed wins this case and adds this ten crore rupees to her bank balance, then this ‘vadhu’ who is all set for a reality show ‘vivaah’ will surely find several suitors coming in especially for the added bucks in her account!
As of now we can surely say, this controversy gave Veena much more “exposure” than she must have ever thought!
