Bollywood flicks show that the leading girls and guys fall for each other for the bigger traits like bravado, kindness, patriotism- blah blah blah. But what if, like real-life crushes, they too have a thing for each others’ little, otherwise unnoticed traits? Here’s shuffling through quirks that we think worked wonders for filmy love stories!
The quirkiest trait ever has to be Sunny paaji’s iconic dance-style in Yaara O yaara from Jeet! Karisma Kapoor may have liked the macho man for all his dhaai-kilo-ka-haath awesomeness, but surely can’t have missed the fist-pounding step matched with that disarming grin! Aamir’s dry humour and mischievous nature may have gotten on to Preity’s nerves in Dil Chahta hai, but we’d like to believe those dimples flashed deeper every time she saw the little goatee right under his lip! Cute, no? Talking of physical features, Sonakshi’s much-hyped forehead was probably the centre of all of Salman’s affection in Dabangg when he wasn’t being the macho cop! Vidya’s not-so-flat abs really had the voluptuous figure-loving men like Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and even Emraan Hashmi drooling when she jiggled her tummy to Ooh la la from The Dirty Picture! Yes, Indian men LOVE curves! And by the look of Aiyyaa, it seem that some really masculine scent drags Rani to Prithviraj every time she’s confronted by him! Pretty sexy, huh?
Who doesn’t love the silly things about their better halves? Ranbir’s socially inept JJ in Rockstar wooed the uptight Nargis Fakhri nonetheless, and Kangna’s beer-chugging, dare-devil Tanu was a contrast to the sophisticated Manu, played by R Madhavan- but he fell for her all the more! Akshay Kumar in Housefull was a mess all the time, so we’re betting it’s the vulnerability that appealed to Deepika in the film! And the craziest of appeals is probably what Kareena had for Ajay Devgn in Golmaal 3! He’d fly into a fiery rage every time someone pointed a finger at him, beating them to pulp!
Kudos to directors for coming up with such quirky traits for their actors- it’s no wonder why we remember and love each of them so well!
