2015 hasn't exactly been a landmark year for Bollywood movies so far. Only a couple of films managed to cross the 100 Crore mark while many others have flopped miserably. But all that is about to change with the release of Salman's latest offering Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan is that rare Salman Khan flick which seems to have a really good story working in its favour. Besides Salman's usual herogiri, the film has some actual cinematic value to offer making it a very versatile movie. As usual, we expect the movie to perform tremendously well across single screen outlets in the country. The masses will definitely flock to the theatres to lap up whatever their beloved bhai has to offer them. However, we feel that Bajrangi Bhaijaan's sensitive undertones will also attract good crowds to the multiplexes too. As compared to a film like Kick, Bajrangi appears to be a much more family friendly movie which will definitely work in its favour.
Coming to the release date, Salman has once again bagged the all important Eid weekend. The festive mood will ensure people keep flocking to the theaters and a record breaking weekend collection is definitely expected. His previous offering Kick had raked in close to 85 Crores in the first three days and we feel Bajrangi Bhaijaan could easily break this record. A 100 Crore collection over the weekend too doesn't seem far fetched.
Overseas collections is one area Salman falls behind the other Khans. His films have a very desi- appeal and Bajrangi Bhaijaan is no different. But inspite of all that, Kick had made over 60 Crores overseas and we see no reason for Bajrangi Bhaijaan to not replicate the feat.
So overall, Bajrangi Bhaijaan could easily turn out to be the biggest film of the year. Overall collections crossing 200 Crores seem very possible and we wouldn't be surprised if it emerges as the biggest film of Salman's career too.
