The hit-spurning brothers of Bollywood have an actor to share for their upcoming projects, and there's bound to be some clash of plans.
Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet' and Abhinav Kashyap's 'Besharam' both feature Ranbir Kapoor. Due to clashing schedules, Abhinav's film will be shot first. Does that disturb Anurag, maker of films like Dev D, and the upcoming Gangs Of Wasseypur?
He doesn't seem perturbed or disappointed. "I am not disappointed. It (Bombay Velvet) is not getting postponed. It will happen at the right time," Anurag told reporters. The movie, based on Mumbai Fables, a semi-fictional account of Mumbai in the 60's by Professor Gyan Prakash of Princeton University, requires ample amount of research and time. The change in plans allows Anurag more of it to prepare well for making Bombay Velvet. It's definitely no mean task for the director. “It's a massive film -- I have to create the city of Bombay of 1960s digitally. It can't be done overnight,” he explains.
With the two brothers making landmark movies (Abhinav is the director of top-grosser 'Dabanng' starring Salman Khan), how do the two balance their personal-professional equation? "One has to realise that everybody has responsibilities to fulfill, but I had none of them. Abhinav took care of those responsibilities and he said you pursue your dream and I am here,” says Anurag, speaking fondly of his brother. “The day 'Dev D' became a hit, he said 'You take the charge now, I am coming to make a film'. So that's the contribution of my brother in my life. So people can speculate anything," he adds.
That sure tells us a lot about the adage 'family comes first', adhered to by the Kashyap brothers!
