Yami's got her feet on the ground!

Vicky Donor was not only John Abraham's debut production, it also got on screen fresh talent that you saw only on TV before. Ayushmann Khuranna may have been the lead role, but every male who set is eyes on her wanted to marry the lead actress Yami Gautam!

“I am single but it's nice to have a lot of male fans. But I am in no mood to mingle. I enjoy being single and am concentrating on my work right now. I wouldn't get into a relationship just for the heck of it,” says the young actress. Talking of work, since co-star Ayushmann has started on new projects already, will she be starting too?

“I do have a couple of good offers but I am under no pressure to choose one right away. After all, my debut film was a hit! When I sign my next, I am sure my director will announce the news,” explains Yami. Of the pace at which other newcomers have signed on new projects, she says, “I don't want to sound pompous, but honestly I find it funny being compared to another actor. I felt happy when someone wrote I did a good job doing my role in Vicky Donor. There was no skin show involved, yet people liked my work.”

Being in front of the camera isn't a new thing for this girl who has been the face for fairness creams, cellphones etc. But you have to admit, that adulation and fame for work on the film screen does give a lot of youngsters wings. What does this Chandigarh kudi have to say about changes in life post-debut film? “I am still the same girl. I am grounded. My head is on my shoulders and I like to be with my family,” she says confidently, “They are proud of my work. My parents are really supportive and they are more contemporary than I am.”

Here's wishing this new dash of talent all the very best for her projects- whether or not she lets the cat out of the bag!
