The success of Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders at the IPL this year has boosted the shoot for Rohit Shetty's Chennai Express as well. The actor has shifted the shoot to September, while he had earlier agreed on dates in October.
A source close to the actor confirms, “SRK has given the dates for the film in September. It is a 20-day schedule, as he wants to be present when his cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders takes on other teams at this year's Champions League in South Africa. Earlier this year, KKR won the Indian Premier League for the first time making them hot favorites to win the Champions League as well. Shah Rukh wants to watch some of the final matches and so has decided to be in South Africa during that time. So the film has been rescheduled to September end”
The film will be shot in a massive set erected at Bandra's Mehboob Studio. The film will be SRK's first with Rohit.
“Rohit was also more than happy to accommodate SRK as his sister is getting married on November 11 and he wanted time for the preparations. With the 20-day schedule wrapping up around mid October, Rohit will get time for the preparations,” the source revealed.
While the filmmaker and the actor fix on the dates, we wonder what the film will be about- will it have Rohit's signature flying cars, or SRK's evergreen romance? Only time will tell!
