Salman Khan cares about his audience, and it's evident from the clean, family content of his films. His films are always family entertainers and never contain any vulgarity.
The same image is what Salman expects the programmes he is affiliated with on TV to maintain. He has been the anchor of Bigg Boss, and it's negative, manipulative image makes it harmful for his young fans to watch it.
“It was a joint decision between Salman and the broadcasters to clean up Bigg Boss. Salman has become a very big star today and has a huge fan following, especially among kids. It works for him and the broadcasters to get more eyeballs,” says a source from the TV industry. Hence, on his insistence, season 6 of Bigg Boss will be high on the family factor, with non-controversial contestants who have good reputations. Broadcasters of the show inform, “Bogg Boss 6 will be a wholesome entertainer with a parivarik punch.”
The source revealed that Salman's word had a role to play in this change. “Biss boss has so far catered to the voyeuristic needs of the Indian audience,” says the source, “But there is bad news for those in the film and TV industry who thrive on controversies. Not so long ago these people were prime contenders for the show. But now, only those participants with a family friendly image will be chosen.”
So people of all ages can hope to watch a refreshing season of Bigg Boss. Though no instructions will be provided with regards to the manner of conduct, so long as the participants are sober, there will be no need for concern.
Here's to a clean and entertaining season 6 of Bigg Boss.
