Keeping in mind Ayushmann Khurrana’s singing talent and trying to imbibe it in their upcoming movie ‘Nautanki Saala’, director Rohan Sippy and Producer Bhushan Kumar may have got themselves into a little disagreement.
Bhushan Kumar is very involved in the music of his films, and the polar tastes of director and producers may or may not lead to the inclusion of a song sung by Ayushmann in the film. Ayushmann has previously been noted wanting to include at least one of his own vocal compositions in each of his films, post the success of the song ‘Paani da Rang’ from the movie Vicky Donor, which he sung.
“Ayushmann didn't put down a condition that we have to use his song. And it was made clear to Rohan right from day one that I'd be involved in the music. He agreed that I had great music sense and agreed to let me be an active part of the musical process,” clarifies Bhushan, adding, “Rohan respects my ideas in music and I respect his. The point where we disagree is that Rohan tends to lean toward Western sounds. That's when I've to step in to remind him that Western sounds work in Hindi films only to an extent. Indian melodies have to be balanced with Western sounds. We're going to have seven to eight songs in Nautanki Saala.”
It’s good to see that it’s just a trivial disagreement, and even better to know that audiences have some awesome music coming their way soon!
