Political controversy. Intense action. And a talented star cast. Yes, Prakash Jha is back with another film that is sure to get the country’s attention.
Chakravyuh is based on the Maoist movement, which has engulfed certain parts of India. It’s the story about 2 friends Adil (Arjun Rampal) and Kabir (Abhay Deol). Adil is an inspector on duty in the strife-torn Maoist areas who sends his best friend Kabir to infiltrate the organization in the hope of capturing their leader and running the Maoists down.
While Kabir succeeds in his mission, he learns a lot more about the way the Maoists and other deprived villagers live. In the course of time he begins to recognize himself as one of them which sets up a final encounter between him and Adil. Both have choices to make, which end up defining their lives.
Arjun and Abhay are both proven actors and look set to thrive in their challenging roles. The cast also includes the indomitable duo of Manoj Bajpai and Om Puri backed by the younger female duo of Esha Gupta and Anjali Patil. Esha’s sizzling hot body caught everyone’s attention in Jannat 2 and Raaz 3, but this role will surely test her mettle as an actress. The music looks set to leave a mark without being overly brilliant.
If you’re a person who likes to use his mind, then Chakravyuh might well be the movie for you. Produced under the Eros Entertainment banner, this film encompasses everything Prakash Jha has ever been known for. We’d advise you to keep an eye out for this one.
PJ always tends to have a surprise up our sleep. After Aarakshan, he’ll be hoping Chakravyuh does a better job on the BO.
